3/10/04 : DDSL 17Major : Oh so Close! Celtic, without at least 3 players from their squad, went down 2-0 to Newbridge Town, the first from a dubious penalty, and the second a defensive mix-up. But Ciaran O'Donoghue was to turn the game on its head. He scored a great goal to bring Celtic back into the game, from a Ciaran Carr cross. He was on hand again to bring the sides level, again with the help of Carr. Then late on, Ciaran O'Reilly cleverly slotted home, following a neat backpass from Steve Parsons, to give Celtic a well earned 3 points. NDSL 12Premier team went behind away to Glebe North to an unfortunate goal. Though dominating the second half, all that Celtic had to show at the end was a share of the points. The equaliser came from a lovely free kick from outside the box sweetly struck by Graham Jordan. Man of match was Emmet Roche who played superbly in the middle of the park. NDSL 17A team beat Belclare 4 -0 in Porterstown today. A hard tackle on one of Celtic's players resulted in a bit of handbags at which point ref needlesly straight red carded both players - completely unjustified as neither player deserved to be sent off. Scorers were Mark McLoughlin, Cian Kennedy & Fran Lowe (2). DDSL U-18s Super Cup : Celtic lose out on penalties to visiting Leixlip Utd. |
