Match Reports

19/3/05 : AUL Div2 travelled over to Tallaght, and blitzed the home side, Killinarden, 7-1, with the hero being Aaron Coward, who helped himself to a hat-trick.   AUL Div2A also got full points in their home fixture against Phoenix Rovers. Celtic were helped to victory with goals from Declan Cunningham, Mark Stephens and Neil McAdam.  Neil had the misfortune to miss a penalty, which would have made it much more comfortable. As it happened, Celtic won 3-2. Deco I suspect will want to take the next penno. 9As suffer 2-0 defeat at home to Hartstown.  19/3/05: 14Premier have amazing win.  They went behind to a Baldoyle goal, but recovered to level it 1-1 with a goal from Chris Hoey before half-time.  They suffered 2 further reverses in the second half to leave them looking beaten 3-1. But Man of the match, Ger Farrelly was having none of it.  He rallied the troops to greater effort.  It bore fruit when Aaron McAdam, brother of senior player Neil, made it 2-3.  Ger Farrelly himself levelled matters at 3-3, and in a storming finish Aaron was again on hand to score, to earn Celtic full points.  11Bs lose out to St Itas 3-1 at home in Porterstown.  14Bs also went down 1-0 at home to St Pauls Artane in top of the table clash.   15Premier : John has been a sterling servant to the club since he took over management of this team.  The club has greatly benefitted from his coaching expertise, as well as his other skills, incl fund-raising initiatives. We wish John and Joanne every good wish in their future in Perth, Western Australia.  20/3/05 : 16As overcame Leicester Celtic 3-0 away in Loretto Park, Rathfarnham, thanks to James Haughton, Stephen Simpson, and 'double chasing' John Moriarty, each of whom was on the mark for Castleknock.  17Major side were out of sorts in the windy conditions in Porterstown. Having had back-to-back wins in the past 2 weeks, they were always second best to Leixlip Utd.  Ronan McGivern got a consolation goal, as the home side went down 3-1.  

 

12th/13th March 2005

12/3/05 : AUL Div2A just edge out their colleagues, our Div2 team by 3-1 in penalty shoot-out in Quarter-final of the Elastoplast Cup, after the sides had ended 0-0 a.e.t. Charlo Heneghan was the star for the victors, saving 2 of Dara O'Connor's team's penalties.  This leaves them on track for a unique treble of trophies, as they lead their division and are into the semi-final of the Jim Cullen Cup.   9As go down 2-0 at home to Swords Rovers, despite valiant effort, while missing some players due to injury. click for more  10F have excellent 3-1 win over Malahide Utd, with goals from John McGivern x2, and one from Gearóid McLoughlin.  13/3/05 : 11Premier have comfortable 5-2 win over Northway Rangers in the Dr Tom Coughlan Cup.  Sean O'Donnchú's 11D side earn a 1-1 draw at home to Artane Beaumont, thanks to full back Jonathon Doyle getting the vital goal.  Team Coach Peter Lawler was delighted with the commitment of the team, who had battled hard to get a result.  Balbriggan too strong for our 12D side in league encounter.  14C secured a great 4-1 win versus Huntstown Utd. Scorers were Kieran Lynch with a long range effort, Martin Monnelly with a superb lob, and one each from Paul Cervi and Mick Tobin. 13/3/05 : 15Premier are unable to give John O'Reilly an appropriate going-away present, when they went down 2-1 away to Willows in Poppintree.  Barry Breen got his first goal of the season for Celtic.  John has been a sterling servant to the club since he took over management of this team.  The club has greatly benefitted from his coaching expertise, as well as his other skills, incl fund-raising initiatives. Stephen Simmo Simpson set up Brian Cummiskey for the first, which he lifted over the keeper. The second was a beaut with John Moriarty cleverly back heeling to James Haughton, who scored at the second attempt. James was again on hand for the third, when he was alert to the quick throw-in from Gary Gazzer Masterson.  17 Major DDSL win dour encounter with Meath Rangers by 3-1.click for more  18 Premier DDSL are much too strong for St Maelruans as Celtic win 5-0 away in Tallaght. Adam O'Callaghan was again on fire, as he helped himself to a juicy hat-trick. Bro Steve got one, while Simon Fleming weighed in with his regular goal.  Billy Cotter and Colm Brady were top class in the middle of the park.
