And Conor Mooney hit a screamer from 25 yards into the far corner, goal of the week.  22/5/05:  AUL Div2A Celtic's dream of League and Cup Double ended in Clonshaugh on Sunday evening. They went down 2-0 to Newlands Celtic. The focus now is on the League title which they can win this week with victory away to Aston Village. They continued with their title challenge on 24/5/05 with a 1-1 away draw against Phoenix Rvrs. 22/5/05: U-9 Jimmy Higgins Cup : Maynooth Town just edge out Sean Linnane's squad by 2-0 in Cup Final. Celtic dominated the 3rd and 4th quarters, but could not break down a plucky Maynooth defence. Celtic hit the crossbar twice, and had numerous efforts stopped. 18/5/05: AUL Div2A have priceless 2-1 win over McKelvey Celtic away in the league, which leaves them within touching distance of the title. We need four points from our remaining 3 league games. Richie Flanagan, who got man of the match award, scored a gem of a free kick. Marto Fleming chipped the keeper for the second. 14Ds give Dunboyne a lesson at home in Laurel Lodge, when Conor Mannion struck a superb hat-trick, and Derek Fitzpatrick got the other, to give Celtic a 4-1 win.  13Bs share the points away to Rush with 1-1 draw.  Johnny Cooper got the equaliser early in the second half.  17/5/05: 18Prem maintain their league title challenge with 2-0 win over Esker Celtic in Porterstown. Swords Celtic equalised in the dying minutes of League Cup SemiFinal to take tie to extra time. They went on to get the crucial deciding goal to overcome Celtic 3-2.    18Prem continue their relentless pursuit of league title. They narrowly defeated Ballybrack 3-2 away, thanks to a goal from recently signed Weah, and one each for Adam O'Callaghan and his brother Steve, who scored a cracker from 30 yards.  12/5/05: 11As go down 1-2 to Artane Beaumont. David Cummins scored Celtic's goal, while Ryan Hickey was man-of-the-match, according to the goalscorer. 18Prem bounce back after Sunday's reverse against Leicester Celtic with 6-1 win over local rivals Verona. Simon Fleming and Adam O'Callaghan helped themselves to a brace each, while Neil Ahearne got one. Congrats to Ian Flood who also scored on his return after his eye injury.   AUL Div2A struggled to get this essential victory. In the end, it was Deco Cunningham's goal, and sterling perforamances by Richie Flanagan and Billy Dunne, that gained the win over Blessington.
