NDSL 13A

A tight struggle between Celtic and Navan Road Utd (see team photo below). Sean Hanlon's introduction to Celtic's team in the second half seemed that it would prove the difference when he shot his side in front. He was returning after injury. But Navan Road battled and a defensive lapse let them in for the equaliser by midfielder Shane Darcy.

Celtic maintained their 100% record this season by beating Greenfield Park 2-1 in Albert College. Dec Cunningham and new recruit Joey Thompson were Celtic's marksmen.

Superb start at home for Celtic when they overcame neighbours Whitestown Utd, 5-1. Simon Fleming struck early to put Celtic ahead, after good work by Weh Tauway. He followed that up with his second from a free kick which he rifled home from 25 metres, after Steve O'Callaghan was brought down.

Whitestown never recovered from losing 2 of their defenders early on.

Weh Tauway was on the mark himself 5 minutes into the second half. Gavan Rossiter reduced the arrears when he controversially got a touch in a challenge with Celtic keeper, Keith White, and the ball ended up in the net.

Celtic's industrious mid-fielder/striker, Steve O'Callaghan, was too fast for 'town defender, Warren Kelly, and the ball sped through to Simon Fleming who completed his hat-trick.  Steve himself was on the mark to make it 5-1.
