Grainne’s Cut  by  Ken Armstrong

Retired caving expert Tommy Fox is approached by well-spoken Dorothy to lead a small expedition into the cave he dicovered some years before.  Tommy laughs when he finds that the expedition comprises three women, one of whom, Des, is totally blind.  He reluctantly changes his mind when a large anount of money is offered.

The women prove themselves to be more than qualified to make the descent into the cave but Tommy remains derisive of their achievments.

The journey through the cave stretches some of the group to the limits of their endurance with Fox increasingly enjoying himself as the women’s difficulties grow.

But the final descent - down which Tommy has no wish to go - is the place where the truth will be found about the entire expedition, the secret of Grainne’s Cut.
