YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DISPLAY
WHAT SHOULD HAVE APPEARED ON THE 3D DISPLAY?
You should see the Earth Globe where your viewpoint rotates and positions over Greenwich.
You should see the earth shadow representing night time on half the Globe.
You should see the reflection from the blue oceans in the daylight half of the Globe.
If you dragged the mouse pointer on the Globe your viewpoint should move.
INDICATE THE TYPE OF PROBLEM YOU HAVE?
The Globe shows bands of colours
The colour quality is bad
The display is dark
The response is slow
I cannot navigate around the Globe using the mouse

POSSIBLE CAUSES OF BAD COLOUR or DARK SCREEN
Check that your display is set to 65536 or more colours as follows.
Click Start at bottom left of screen.
Select

ontrol Panel
from the pop-up start menu.
In the Control Panel window click on the icon marked Display.
Click at the settings tab near top of Display Properties window.
Look at the setting in the
C
olour palette
box. It should be at least 65536 (i.e. 16 bit or more).
If less select the highest possible value from the drop down box.
POSSIBLE CAUSES OF POOR RESPONSE
You need a Pentium® II or III processor or equivalent for a good response.
You should have at least of 32Meg of memory in your system.
If the response is still bad close all other applications to see if it improves the response.
PROCEDURE TO MOVE AROUND THE GLOBE
You should be able to adjust your Altitude, Latitude and Longitude.
To adjust your altitude place the mouse over the up or down arrow on the left side of the display and
hold down the left mouse button until you see your altitude begin to change.
To change your longitude
hold down the left mouse button anywhere in the centre of the Globe
. Wait for the cursor to change to an cross arrow and the message
Now Drag and Hold
will appear. Drag the mouse to the top or to the bottom of the screen and continue to hold the left button down until you see your point of view tilt North or South. Release the mouse when you wish to stop the movement.
To change your latitude
hold down the left mouse button anywhere in the centre of the Globe
. Wait for the cursor to change to an cross arrow and the message
Now Drag and Hold
will appear. Drag the mouse to the left or to the right side of the screen
(the further you drag the faster the motion)
and continue to hold the left button down until you see your point of view rotate around the Globe. Release the mouse when you wish to stop.
