  1. Assignment 1:  eBusiness Strategies of Two Organisations (25 marks)

 Investigate and compare the eBusiness strategies of two different organisations each with a web presence.

 Areas investigated could include reference to the role of the website and a range of other issues such as: ease of use, how many clicks to order, ordering and payment methods, speed of  delivery promises, security (encryption, secure socket layer, secure electronic transfer, firewalls), privacy policies, marketing strategies, BtoC or BtoB, site advertising speed of delivery promises (2 days or 28 days?), feedback options, backup service, helplines, confirmatory e mails, e mail newsletters etc.

 Include conclusions and/or recommendations.

  1. Assignment 2: Social, Economic or Legal Impact of eBusiness (25 marks)

 Investigate and analyse one of the following:  the social, economic or legal impact resulting from the adoption and growth of eBusiness.

 The evidence will include reference to the impact on business and/or on individuals’ personal or vocational lives.

 Include conclusions and/or recommendations.

 Ø      Suggested social issues: Move away from personal contact, use of credit cards, impact on small communities, personal privacy, changing nature of employment

Ø      Suggested economic issues: Use of credit cards and digital cash, impact on existing off line retailers, (big and small), global marketplace, influence of multinationals/small start up businesses, dot.com successes and failures

Ø      Suggested legal issues: Data protection, copyright, contracts, consumer protection, privacy rights

  1. Project:  Develop an eBusiness Strategy (50 marks)

Investigate and analyse an opportunity particularly suited to eBusiness and develop a suitable eBusiness strategy to exploit the opportunity.

Your project must demonstrate:

Ø      your understanding and application of eBusiness concepts

Ø      use of relevant research techniques and sources of information

Ø      ability to analyse, evaluate and draw conclusions and/or make recommendations
