Congratulations to the Macra na Feirme Club on celebrating their Tenth Anniversary, well done lads and lassies.
This is indeed a very special occasion for the members both past and present. As in any organisation people tend to move on after a while, indeed this is a sign of great life and vitality, new blood always brings with it new gifts and talents which must be given an opportunity to blossom and grow. Over the year your Club has displayed some great talent on and off stage. You have done the parish community proud.
Indeed over the years, the Macra Club has played a very active part in the social life of the Kilmacow community and providing a window of opportunity for young people to socialise and explore their talents and allowing people to take initiative and learn from the experience.
I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your past performance and to wish the Club all the very best for many more years.
Remember that coming together is only the beginning. Staying together is good, but working together that is what is called success.

Fr. Larry O' Keeffe.

Working with the elderly

My personal view is that Macra na Feirme is one of the finest organisations for young people, offering them a genuine outlet for their talents and a social scene which will last throughout their lifetimes. It brings many diverse interests together and moulds them into community leaders of the future .

As Chairman of Rosedale, I commend the Macra for getting involved in fundraising on our behalf some years ago,and particularly for continuing that support which is extremely valuable to us. It has allowed us to complete some projects and acquire some neccessary equipment essential to the smooth running of the Home.

Celebrating the Mellinium

The Millennium Committee is grateful for the opportunity to formally acknowledge the marvellous response which it received from Macra in Kilmacow over the past three years. The special millennium project undertaken by the people of Kilmacow was to house families in Rwanda. This work gave the initiative for a tile making enterprise to start up & later a Health Centre was constructed from additional funds raised in Kilmacow. Central to our fundraising was the Millennium concert held in January 2000. This concert which was held to celebrate the talents of Kilmacow could not have happened without the involvement of Macra members in all stages including planning, sets, programme & performance. We greatly appreciated the sense of co-operation, fun & camaraderie with which all aspects of the concert were organised.

The Millennium Committee congratulates the Macra club on its achievement over the past ten years & wishes it well for the future.
