A Beautiful Person

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring.
He sends you a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He listens.
He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose... your heart.
Face it friend, He is crazy about you!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

From the Pastor's Desk

A Reflective Prayer
Like the people in today's Gospel text, we need the pity and the help of God in our daily tasks. May this prayer of Offering and Dedication help us to come closer to you.

Father of all, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ's body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty God, we thank you for feeding us with the body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ. Through him we offer you our souls and bodies to be a living sacrifice. Send us out in the power of your Spirit to live and work to your praise and glory. Amen.

Remember, O Lord, what you have wrought in us, and not what we deserve; and as you have called us to your service, make us worthy of our calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Old Gold
(A parishioner recently sent me a gem from her storehouse of prayer.)

When the shadows of death gather round me,
And the portals of heaven draw nigh,
Will you come to me, Mary Immaculate?
Come and help me to die.
Come with St. Joseph, your escort;
Let me hear the sweet sound of your voice,
Saying 'now your exile is ending,
The time is at hand to rejoice'.

Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, send workers into your harvest. May the Spirit we received in Baptism touch the hearts of many to offer themselves in priesthood, religious life, and other forms of service. Give the parents and families of our parish, the wisdom and courage to support young people, in searching for and following the call of God in their lives

The One-Sentence Sermon:
Give God what is right, not what is left.
