FAIRS AND FIESTAS

Stumbling upon a local fiesta in a small Spanish town or village can be one of the greatest delights of your trip. The houses will be decked with flags, the main street or central square lined with stalls piled high with candy, coconuts, nuts and turrones. The band will be playing, people will be decked out in party dresses or local costume and most likely a celebration procession with colorful floats and fancy costumes. Many of these fiestas are a celebration of the saint's.
