St John's Boys  Band c.1960.

A very popular marching band formed by the brothers of the De la Salle Order with the assistance of some talented musical parents. In it's infancy the pupils were taught the basics of tin whistle playing and progressed to building a fully fledged fife and drum band .

For many years the appearance of the band at important Gaelic fixtures at Nowlan Park was a joy to behold. They played at numerous other functions in the city over the years and were
successful in capturing not one but two All-Irelands in the one day at Edenderry for music and figure marching.
