Head of Parade
(2) -
On Foot
Brazilian carnival street performers will front
the parade as they used to do in Rio de Janeiro,
their mother land.
They
will dance Marcha (classical carnival music),
Frevo, Baião and Maracatu from the Northeast,
plus Afro-inspired Afoxé and Samba Reggae from
Bahia. This is an amazing display of colourful
Carnival costumes. |

Brazilian Samba Dancers (2) -
On Foot
This
is Samba, the dominant style in Southeast
Brazil, centred on Rio de Janeiro.
Dancers by training, they spent many seasons
with samba schools in Rio de Janeiro and Sao
Paulo, not only learning the art of this
dazzlingly complex dance, but also exploring the
entire world of samba and lambada.
We have dancers to create a whole dance flow of
real Brazilian performers. |

Carmen Miranda - On Foot
She is the Queen of every parade, a classic
Latin American character. She will entertain the
crowd as she passes with her beauty, her
colourful costume, her graciousness move, and
her ability to walk with this legendary basket
full of fruit sitting on top of her head. |

Fire Eaters - On Foot
Talented performers. Mick constantly strives to
maintain the intensity of emotion he experienced
as a child when viewing the circus for the first
time. He says it is this never-relaxed state of
"living on the edge" to which he attributes his
success. This intense motivation is both
exciting and electrifying to behold. |

Crazy Drag Queens (3) - On Skates
Another element of fun. It is a tradition of all
the great Carnivals like the one of Rio,
Salvador, New Orleans (Mardi Gras) or Trinidad
to have these amusing characters. Men dressed as
women, carefully made up, long nails, beautiful
dresses, false eye-slashes, and wigs, messing,
imitating females, and having fun. |

Clown - On Foot, Unicycle,
Stilts
This classic character can’t be absent from any
Festival. He comes in all shapes and sizes, and
displays an amazing variety of skills: bouncing
and clowning around, juggling, playing surprise
tricks, teasing and chasing children, or the
other way round! Face Painting,
balloon moulding,
Singing and Dancing, come natural to this
much-loved funny character.

Acrobats
They are contorting Sea Creatures, Cheeky She-Devils, and quirky
acrobatic Millennium Bugs from outer space. They
are also class acrobats in amazing costumes
bringing a bit of madness with a combination of
acting, contortionism and sword juggling. |

Leon The Disco King - On
Stilts
This stilt walker
has a fuse or two loose. His Neon springs ensure
Leons dancing away to the constant music inside
his head. He is guaranteed to bring the party
wherever he goes.
