Eurovision Song Contest winner Charlie McGettigan presented the 2000 Keadue Song Contest

KEADUE 2000 RESULTS

I Followed the Moon written by Brian McGuire & Paula Carroll from Ranelagh in Dublin won the 2000 competition while My Ebony Dear Friend written by Ray Phelan from Drumcondra in Dublin took second place.Unfortunately Ray was out of the country and through some great last minute organising by Colin Turner of The Songworks a local girl Fiona McNiff performed the song. Very well known locally Fiona surprised us all with a fantastic rendition of the song even though she does not sing professionally and first heard the song only two days before. Good Park Bench by Frank McKeon from Swellan in Co. Cavan came third. The Rock and Roll Kid Charlie McGettigan entertained in his own inimitable way and a great night was had by all.
