Our Fred Daly team, with recent wins over Kinsale and Dunmore, played Muskerry for a place in Munster quarter final.
Result Lee Valley 2 Muskerry 3.
Our team, represented by players whose handicaps ranged from 8 to 15 were up against players whose handicaps ranged from 3 to 6. This had no effect on our players who played inspired golf with the overall match only being decided on the 17th green in the final match on the course.
Lee Valley came very close to winning having been 3/2 up for long periods during the day.
The players progress, under the coaching of Morgan O'Donovan, was outstanding with all of panel available for the Fred Daly again next year.

Lee Valley had a great win over Kinsale in first round match of Fred Daly competion.
The players showed the benefit of coaching by Morgan O'Donovan over the winter and the standard of play was very high.
The match marked the notable debut of Greg O'Mahony, aged 10.

Greg O'Mahony won this years Junior Captains Prize with a remarkable score of 51 points. What was even more remarkable is that he is just 10 years of age. A bright future in the sport is eagerly anticipated. In second place was 10 handicapper Eugene Higgins who shot 41 point.
