To Get To Malin Head Hostel

The hostel is on R242, 10Km north of Malin. Look for the blue sign on the left. (We are opposite the school).

By Bus: Bus to Derry or Letterkenny with Bus Eireann or to Carndonagh from Parnell Square, Dublin with McGinley buses. The Lough Swilly bus and Northwest Busways connect Carndonagh to Derry or Letterkenny. From Carndonagh there is an Inishowen rural transport bus to Malin Head. It is best to enquire with us about these buses when booking.

Ask the bus driver to stop at Malin Head Hostel, which is along the bus route.

By Ferry:   Foyle Ferries operate a car ferry service across the Foyle between Magilligan and Greencastle.  There is also a car ferry across the Swilly between Rathmullan and Buncrana.

By Car:  Once in Inishowen drive to Carndonagh in the centre of the Peninsula and then north to Malin village, and then on the R242 to Malin Head.  The hostel is along this road on the left, 10km after Malin village. Look for the blue sign; we are opposite the school.

You may like to follow the "Inishowen 100" scenic route, which begins in the south of the Peninsula. Look for signs at Bridgend. The route follows the coast and is 100 miles long. Malin Head hostel is along the route.
