Things to see & do

Watch a spectacular sunset  at Ireland's most northerly point or from our garden.

Hunt for semi-precious stones of agate, Cornelian, rose quartz, jasper....on the raised beaches and make your own jewellery!

Savour crab and lobster landed daily at local pier, complemented, of course with organic vegetables and herbs from the hostel garden.

Swim in the refreshing Atlantic on safe sandy beaches.

Ornithologists may watch choughs, snow bunting, puffins and hear the call of the rare corncrake in surrounding meadows.

Make a wish on the "wishing - chair" at Malin Well while visiting the home of St. Muirdeallach and his ruined church.  The nearby holy well is an ancient place of pilgrimage.

Explore the coast, internationally renowned for its post-glacial strand lines with raised beaches and "dead" sea cliffs.

Have you ever chewed salty dulse, sampled dessert made from carraigeen moss seaweed or roasted bairneachs (shell fish) on an open fire?

Spend the day fishing and catch your dinner.

Drive the "Inishowen 100" scenic route and relax a night in Malin Head Hostel along the way.

Relax mind and body with a Reflexology treatment at the Hostel.

Warts a problem? No more! Cure at holy grave at Lagg church, built during penal times and the oldest church in use on the Inishowen peninsula.

Make a pilgrimage to Cnocalough, the lake at the top of the hill, blessed by St. Patrick and from which he banished evil serpents! and then test your head for heights with a coastal hike along the cliffs.

Visit historical sites, old Irish villages and the many archaeological sites in north Inishowen for example, Carndonagh cross, Bocan stone circle.
