Ardkeeran National School
Our school is called Ardkeeran National School. It was built in 1903 as a 2-teacher school. The first two teachers were Mr. and Mrs. O'Hanlon from Co.Tyrone. It was reconstructed in 1957 and one classroom was subdivided to accommodate an extra teacher. It has been a 3-teacher school ever since until September 2000, when Edel Dwyer joined us.
Today we have 4 teachers
and 91 pupils, 51 boys and 40 girls.
The school is dedicated to Saint Mathona.
