Black Mask being led in by
my father, Dr W.J.Purcell, after winning the Steward's Cup at Naas in 1943. My
father is seen here being congratulated by his friend Mr Peter Lawler of
Jigginstown. Black Mask was ridden by Mickey Gordon who I had the pleasure of
meeting at the Punchestown Races on the 17th November 2001 when Mickey was 87
years old.
