Note re Stewarding (submitted by Paul Deans)
I am reminded of a colleague of mine from Southern Australia who encountered a similar difficulty and responded  with the following comment(s).
You have three options:-
* You can hope that someone else will do it (after all you joined to race not to help) and the problem will go away.
* You can leave and ride the coast road or better still try anothersport.
* You can offer to become a Marshall/Stewart and give added value to the club and your sport.

2008 Fees : - €3 Entry Fee / €5 for Visitors / U/age : Free
Special Rate for Club Members - €30 to cover all races
***Cycling Ireland Club Licence is minimum requirement for all participants***
(or an IVCA Racing Licence)

Stewarding for 2008 :It is hoped that each member will be needed for 2 events.
This would be 2 league events or a league event and one of the Swords Open races.
This is the very least each member should be doing for their club.
Regards Hugh Byrne 01-8217855(h) 086-3488708

**In brackets is the minimum required number of stewards per event.
We want to fill this requirement first

Also if you want to volunteer as timekeeper or chief steward let me know and give me your mobile number

All races count to your total.

2 points for all who partake in Club Championship Road Race. -No extra points for placings.

Failure to attend on your appointed marshal night without getting someone to marshall in your place will result in rider being barred from League until Marshaling duties have been fulfilled .

5/4/3 pts for each seperate category for Ladies, U16, & U14/12 and all exept U14/12 will be h/cap into main race or time trial competing for the main points towards overall league competition. Any U14 rider who wishes, and whose ability would place him in one of the groups can ride as U16 provided the League Committee considers him capable.

Duties of Chief Steward :To ensure all marshals, ambulance and lead cars are in place and to do a sweep of course to make sure no riders have got lost after the race.

Results : It is important that chief steward gives results to myself, Hugh Byrne (if present) or else phone or e-mail me at swordscc@eircom.net .We need first 7 & 1st Lady for our website. I also pass these results on to Kay Howard who sends them to the newspapers and gets them put up on Aertel Page 505 (RTE2). I also need to know the club if any visitors in these results.
My phone number is 01-8217855 (h) or 086-3488708.
You can leave a message on either
