Gaeilge

Our Language is an important part of our cultural heritage as Irish people, and thus an important element in the educational system. Many careers require a pass in Irish for instance, nursing in Ireland, careers in the Civil Service or Guard . Entry to N.U.I. is also dependent on passing Irish at Leaving Certificate level. Honours Irish is a compulsory requirement for entry to National teaching, and a great advantage when applying for any Government posts.

The school offers three levels of Irish at Junior Certificate level, making it possible for students at all levels ability to experience success in their study of the language.

Irish teachers in the school include Mrs O'Loughlin, Ms Lavelle, Ms Kinnarney, Ms Delaney.
