Weekend of the 8/9th April 15/4/2006
Junior
On Saturday Evening last the Mooncoin Junior team travelled
to Castlecomer to take on the locals in the Hennessy Sports All County
League. It was always going to be a tough encounter but we managed to
return victorious on a 1-12 to 0-9 score line. The strength of our half
back line and half forward line caused the opposition major problems throughout
the game. Best on the night were Alan Hennebry; Liam Sutton (when introduced);
Sean Wall; Stephen Phelan and Liam Walsh.

Junior B
The Special Junior B team took on Kilmacow on Sunday afternoon in Kilmacow.
This was a disappointing result as we lost by 1-10 to 1-6. However some
of our players had been involved in matches the night before and that
morning for our other teams. Still the side did not go down without a
fight. Best on the day were Karl Phelan; Tom Hennebry; Kevin Dunphy; Alan
Walsh and Dick Howley.

Intermediate Challenge
Our intermediate team played Gowran in a challenge match on Sunday morning
in Gowran. This was a game, which the team only lost by four points. The
opposition had all their big guns available with D.J. Carey and Charlie
Carter both lining out. It was a worthwhile exercise and the management
team will be content with the side’s performance as experimentation
continues. For the record the team was:
