This weekend sees the start of both the senior and intermediate Leagues in Kilkenny. For Mooncoin, they will face St. Lachtains (Freshford) in the first round of the Joe Coogan Auctioneer Intermediate League in Callan on, Sunday evening.
Freshford proved a stumbling block in last years League clash, as they overcame Mooncoin in the first round. They are an up and coming team with a mixture of youth and experience with the likes of Kilkenny senior star Michael Kavanagh and previous Kilkenny minor, and current U21 star Eoin Guinan, in their ranks. Mooncoin will be hoping to start off on a good foot and try to mirror the last two years appearances in the county final. The good news for Mooncoin is that their star forward D Mackey has been named on the starting line up.
