2005 Yearbook Entry Extracted from the Kilkenny GAA Yearbook 2005; Redevelopment Works This year our club has taken on a major reconstruction of our playing facilities. Two all weather pitches have been put in place with floodlighting facilities, a stand and a hurling wall. It is hoped that these facilities will improve the standard and bring more young people in to our club. Many thanks too all who were involved in this development work. Adult Playing Fields This year was a bitter pill to swallow for our Intermediate team as Dicksboro beat them in the County Final by just two points. This compounds last year’s defeat at the hands of Carrickshock but hopefully the team will be back next and will fight their way back to the Senior Grade. Our Junior team competed well all year and eventually gave way to Windgap in the Southern Championship. The Special Junior team managed to reach another Southern Final but found Tullougher too hot too handle. Juvenile Joy The highlight of this year was the victory of our
Under 16 team in the Rionn A County Final. This team showed great hurling
skills, character and determination to beat a resolute James Stephens
side in a replay. Well done to Eddie Crowley, Tom Grant, and Liam Sutton
on a job well done. |
