ASSESSMENT OF WATER QUALITY

As we do not have the facilities in our school to test for all the substances required for this project we acquired test results from Mayo County Council in relation to the Lough Mask Regional Water Supply and the Claremorris supply. We also took our own independent sample from Lough Mask and had it analysed. The Mayo County Council tests were carried out by the Western Health Board's Public Analyst's Laboratory. We tested the water for some substances at school and had the rest done by Cosmo Minerals Limited Co. Galway.

The following are the results carried out for Mayo Co. Council:

Overall the results show good quality drinking water with balanced minerals composition, no tendency to scale or corrosion.
