Books about the Irish Navy
To commerate 50 years of the Naval Service two books were published in 1996.
(1) The Irish Navy by Tom MacGinty.
(2) A History of the Irish Naval Service by Aidan McIvor.
Both books were researched at the Irish Military Archives at Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin. To ensure the books were as accurate as possible.
The Irish Navy below decks
On a lighter side we have two books by Jim Brady a former member of the Navy during
the fifties. They are indeed very funny books and for those who served in the Irish
Navy during that period it brings back many fond memories.
