We got off to the ideal start in the Senior Championship with a five point win over Castledaly in Rochfortbridge on Sunday last.

The Downs played with the greater composure throughout, but conceeded the first score of the game to Castledaly but fought back to take a two point lead 1 - 4 to 0 - 5 into the break. On the resumption of play, The Downs extended the lead to four points, but allowed Castledaly back into the game with two points from frees. We responded to the pressure by converting three points. Going into the last few minutes of the game, leading by three points, we scored our second goal of the game to seal victory.

Our amalgamation team St Finians were defeated by Clann Braonain in the first round of the Under 16 Championship.

We will be holding our Annual Golf Classic in Castlebarna Golf Club, Daingean on Saturday 10^th June. This has traditionally been a great day out for all who take part. All interested teams should contact John Joe Monaghan or Joe Burke.

Numbers drawn were 1, 8, 17 & 24, with no winner of IR£700 Jackpot. Winners of £50 prizes were Darragh Aynes and Geraldine Kelly.
