THE DOWNS G.A.A. NOTES
ACL
Division 3:
The
Downs 2 – 6 Killucan 3 - 6:
Our second team suffered
defeat to a hungrier more determined Killucan side in Joristown on Friday
last. Despite playing poorly for long
periods of the game, we always looked to be capable of getting a result but
basic errors and the concession of two goals early in the second half gave
Killucan the breathing space required to give them victory.
Team: Ciaran McCormack, Pat Doherty, Paul Rowan,
Anthony Corroon, Stephen Cleary, Seamus
O’Leary, Thomas Smith, Paul Shanley, Enda Feeney, Matt Maguire, Conor Carley,
Mark Leavy, Pat Leavy, Kieran Carroll, Ronan Colgan.
Subs: Fergal Fagan, Thomas Kelly, Martin Egerton,
Mark Monaghan & Sean Carroll.
Under
12 League:
The
Downs 3 - 12 Shandonagh
3 – 3:
Our Under 12 team gained
their first win of the League with a determined display in The Downs on
Wednesday last.
The team played with great
heart throughout and the encouraging aspect of the game was the teams’ ability
to respond with a score everytime Shandonagh scored a goal. Well done to both sides on a very
entertaining game.
Team: Mark Keegan, Niall Keegan, Barry Leech, James
Hennessey, Conor Raleigh, Darren Nolan, John Caffrey, Aiden Duncan, Darren
Price, Tommy Conneely, Declan Lynam, Jack Hogan, Darren Creighan, Kevin

Under
14 League:
The
Downs 3 - 8 Mullingar
Shamrocks White 2 – 9:
Our Under 14 team also
gained their first League win of the year by defeating an energetic Mullingar
Shamrocks Whites team by two points.
This was a fast,
entertaining game with some great scores taken by both teams, with the return
of Paul Kelleghan from injury – one of the key factors in our victory.

Crowley, Mark Dalton, Willie Newman, Michael Ward, Camine Keegan, Eugene
