Our second team suffered their second defeat of the current league campaign on Saturday night last in a wet Tubberclair.

The home side adjusted better to the greasy conditions to take the initative early on to go into a 0-7 to 0-2 lead. However, we fought back to reduce the deficit to two points at the break.

We hoped for better fortunes in the second-half , but it was again the home side who got the scores. Coming into the last quarter of the game The Downs took control of the game to cut the lead back to the minimum but Tubberclair were fortunate to get a late score to hold out for the victory.

We play St Mary's in the next round of the Under 12 League to-night Wednesday in Rochfortbridge at 7.30

Our Under 16's play Moate All Whites in the League in The Downs on This Thursday May 4^th at 7.30.

When the club embarked on their plans to build the new centre one of the initatives undertaken to raise finance was the Buy-A-Brick campaign. The Buy-A-brick campaign allowed the local community support the building of the centre by sponsoring a brick for £100. In return for this investment in the building, their contribution would be acknowledged in the centre.

The Buy-A-Brick campaign will be ending on June 30^th . Any members of the community who wish to support the new building through this venture can contact treasurer Matt Carley or any committee member.

It is also possible to pay for the brick through Direct Debit.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend the club welcomed the Mullingar Bowls Club to the centre. The Bowls club were running their annual Open Pairs competition and it proved to be a very successful event for the organisers.
