She has worked with children for thirty years and specialises in the field of child sexual abuse. She has trained and worked in the fields of Pre-school Education, Mental Handicap and Child Psychiatry. Eileen is renowned for her therapy work children and with adult survivors of childhood trauma.

Eileen worked with The CARI Foundation for almost fourteen years, most recently as National Clinical Director. She left CARI, to work full time with the Children's Therapy Centre, in the summer of 2004. She holds qualifications in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Jungian Sand Play Therapy, Biodynamic Psychotherapy and Family Law and is a holder of The European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP).

Eileen has extensive experience in delivering training and is certified as a Teaching Professor in Child and Play Therapy by IBECPT - The International Board of Examiners of Certified Child and Play Therapists. Courses delivered by Eileen will automatically qualify for CPD points with IBECPT (The International Board of Examiners of Certified Child and Play Therapists) In addition to providing training in Child Psychotherapy, Play Therapy and Therapeutic Play, Eileen also delivers training related to child sexual abuse issues and has extensive experience of designing and delivering training to meet the needs of statutory and voluntary agencies. She has taught play therapy and therapeutic play modules at Graduate, Post Graduate, and Doctoral Level on a number of courses.

Children's Therapy Centre has a team of experienced teaching staff including qualified and experienced psychotherapists, play therapists, creative arts therapists, and psychologists. All trainers hold suitable qualifications and professional accreditation. We have been delivering high quality training since the mid 90's.

Children's Therapy Centre provides training in Play Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, Therapeutic Playwork, Creative Supervision, and specialised intensive training in trauma and child abuse interventions especially child sexual abuse

CTC's Training Centre is located in Ballymore, Co Westmeath but we offer accredited courses at other locations occasionally and also design and deliver courses for agencies and groups on request. We deliver training in Ireland and abroad.

Courses are designed for: Practitioners in health and social services including child-care workers, project workers, occupational therapists, creative arts therapists, play therapists, nurses, classroom and special needs assistants, pre-school teachers, day care staff, staff in special needs settings (day care or residential units), and for anyone wishing to work oversees as a volunteer in developing countries or disaster areas.

Staff of all the major stakeholders in childcare and therapeutic interventions in Ireland, including all HSE regions, regularly attend CTC courses.
