Borrisoleigh is ideally placed to avail of the riches of the lower Shannon region. Within a day's drive are the cliffs of Moher and Doolin on the West coast of county Clare, Limerick City, Killarney and the beauty of the Ring of Kerry.

To the south in under an hours drive are the Rock of Cashel, the Bru Boru Heritage Centre, Cahir with its castle and the Swiss Cottage. The Glen of Aherlow - noted for it's beauty, serenity and breathtaking views. Mitchelstown cave.

To the South East are Kilkenny, with its beautiful city and medieval castle, Dunmore Caves and Jerpoint Abbey.

To the North is Birr castle renowned as a centre of astronomy and home of the famous Great Telescope built by the earl of Rosse in 1840. Nearby is Clonmacnoise, one of Ireland's most famous monastic sites.

To the West is Limerick and County Clare with Bunratty Castle, Aillwee Caves, the Burren and Kilkee.

Horse racing is available in Tipperary, Thurles and Clonmel.
