I E: LUNG MERIDIAN...  EQUINE   [up]

LU 1 Located in the first intercostal space, medial to the humerus, over the m. pectoralis descendens, directly medial to the cephalic vein. ALARM POINT of the Lung.
LU 7 On the craniomedial edge of the radius, immediately proximal to the medial styloid process. 1.5 cun proximal to the transverse crease of the carpal joint. Caudal to the extensor carpi radialis and cranial to the m. abductor pollicus longus. MASTER POINT of head/neck/lungs.
LU 11 Located proximal to the coronary band, on the caudomedial aspect of the forelimb, just cranial to the medial collateral cartilage. TING POINT.Well Point.

 

II E: LARGE INTESTINE MERIDIAN...  EQUINE  [up]

LI 1 Proximal to the coronary band, on the craniomedial aspect of the forelimb. TING POINT.Well Point.
LI 4 On the medial side of the foreleg, distal to the base of the second metacarpal bone, between the second and third metacarpal bones.(Under the head of the medial splint bone) MASTER POINT of face/mouth. Source Point.
LI 5 In a large depression on the (medial) radial side of the carpus between the second and third carpal bones.River Point.
LI 6 Three cun proximal to LI 5 between the extensor carpi radialis and common digital extensor.
LI 7 Two cun proximal to LI 6, on the lateral surface of the forelimb in the groove between the common digital extensor and extensor carpi radialis. MASTER POINT of head/neck/lungs.
LI 10 At the junction of the proximal and middle third of the lateral surface of the radius. In the muscular groove between the extensor carpi radialis and the common digital extensor. Two cun below LI 11.
LI 11 In a depression cranial to the elbow when flexed, in the transverse cubital crease. One cun cranial to the humeral condylar crest. Sea Point.
LI 16 In a depression on the cranial border of the scapula, two thirds of the way between TH 15 and the point of the shoulder. At the intersection of the cranial margin of the suprascapular muscle and the caudal margin of the brachiocephalicus muscle, cranioventral to the first thoracic vertebra. (The brachiocephalicus comprises the cleidomastoideus and the cleidobrachialis muscles.)
LI 17 Craniodorsal to LI 16 on the dorsal border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle at the level of C 6.
LI 18 Dorsal to the jugular vein, on the cranial border of the mandible when the head is extended.
LI 20 Caudal to the nares on the lateral side of the caninus muscle. Half way round the nares, behind the cartilage. On the opposite of the face from the rest of the meridian.

III E: STOMACH MERIDIAN...  EQUINE  [up]

ST 1 At the intersection of the medial and middle one third of the lower eyelid.
ST 2 Ventral to the medial canthus of the eye, at the bifurcation of the jugular vein.
ST 10 Between the sternocephalicus muscle and the ventral aspect of the brachiocephalic muscle, one hand dorsocranial to the point of the shoulder.
ST 25 Located 1.5 cun lateral to the umbilicus. Alarm Point for Large Intestine.
ST 36 One finger width lateral to the tibial crest, on the craniolateral side of the tibia, over the cranial tibialis muscle. Sea Point.
ST 45 Proximal to the coronary band, on the cranial midline of the hindlimb. Well Point. TING POINT.

 

IV E: SPLEEN MERIDIAN...EQUINE [up]

SP 1 Proximal to the coronary band, on the caudomedial aspect of the hindlimb, just cranial to the medial collateral cartilage. Well Point. TING POINT.
SP 6 Located 3 cun proximal to the proximal tip of the medial malleolus, caudal to the tibial border, cranial to the large lateral head of the deep (long) digital flexor muscle, medial to GB 39. MASTER POINT of caudal abdomen/urogenital system.
SP 9 In a depression on the distal border of the medial condyle of the tibia, over the lateral head of the deep digital flexor muscle and the saphenous vein. Sea Point.
SP 10 Located 2 cun proximal to the patella, in the depression in the belly of the vastus medialis muscle. Flexing the stifle aids in locating this point.
SP 20 In the 4th intercostal space, 2 cun ventral to the level of the scapulohumeral junction, under the triceps muscle.
SP 21 At the 10th intercostal space at the level of the scapulohumeral junction.

V E: HEART MERIDIAN... EQUINE   [up]

HT 1 In the center of the axilla, medial to the axillary artery, between the lateral surface of the trunk and the medial surface of the forelimb, over the pectoralis ascendens muscle.
HT 7 On the caudal aspect of the radius, proximal to the accessory carpal bone at the insertion of the flexor carpi ulnaris at the level of the carpus. Stream Point.
HT 9 Proximal to the coronary band, on the caudo lateral aspect of the forelimb, just cranial to the collateral cartilage. Well Point. TING POINT.

 

VI E: SMALL INTESTINE MERIDIAN... EQUINE   [up]

SI 1 Proximal to the coronary band, on the craniolateral aspect of the forelimb. Well Point. TING POINT.
SI 9 In the fossa caudal to the humerus on the caudal border of the deltoids and between the long and lateral heads of the triceps brachii.
SI 16 Between the second and third cervical vertebrae, on the dorsal border of the brachiocephalicus muscle.
SI 19 Dorsal to the temperomandibular jointand ventral to the intertragic notch. In the indentation of the rostromedial corner of the ear base.

VII E: BLADDER MERIDIAN...EQUINE  [up]

BL 1   At the medial canthus of the eye, in the indentation dorsal to the base of the nictitating membrane.
BL10   Caudal to the ear, in a depression caudal to the wings of the atlas, 2 cun ventral to the mane, between the splenius and brachiocephalicus muscles.
BL 11 T2/3 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the second and third thoracic vertebrae. Cranial to the withers, over te cervical portion of the trapezius muscle. INFLUENTIAL POINT of Bone.
BL 12 T4/5 One cun lateral to the spinous process between the fourth and fifth thoracic vertebrae at the highest point of the withers. Start of outer meridian. Outer meridian BL 41. INFLUENTIAL POINT of Wind/Trachea.
BL 13 IC 8 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, at the caudal edge of the scapular cartilage in the eighth intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove.   Outer  meridian BL 42. Lung Shu Point.
BL 14 IC 9 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the ninth intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 43.  Pericardium Shu Point.
BL 15 IC 10 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the tenth intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 44. Heart Shu Point.
BL 16 IC 11 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the eleventh intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 45. Governing Vessel Shu Point.
BL 17 IC 12 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the twelfth intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 46. Diaphragm Shu Point.   INFLUENTIAL POINT of Blood/Diaphragm.
BL 18 IC 13&14 Two points, each three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the thirteenth and fourteenth intercostal spaces in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 47. Liver Shu Point.
BL 19 IC 15 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the fifteenth intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 48. Gallbladder Shu Point.
BL 20 IC 17 The 16th IC space is skipped. Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, in the seventeenth (last) intercostal space in the iliocostal muscle groove. Outer meridian BL 49. Spleen Shu Point.
BL 21 T/L Caudal to the last rib (T18) at the thoraco lumbar junction, three cun lateral to the dorsal midline. Outer meridian BL 50. Stomach Shu Point.

BL 22

L 1/2 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the spinous processes of the first and second lumbar vertebrae. Outer meridian BL 51. Triple Heater Shu Point.
BL 23 L2/3 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the spinous processes of the second  and third lumbar vertebrae, directly dorsal to the caudal aspect of the last rib. Outer meridian BL 52.  Kidney Shu Point.
BL 24 L4/5 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the spinous processes of the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae.
BL 25 L5/6 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the spinous processes of the fifth and sixth lumbar vertebrae, at the cranial edge of the wings of the ilium.
BL 26 L6/S1 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the spinous processes of the sixth lumbar and first sacral vertebrae.
Bl 27 S1/2 Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the first and second sacral vertebrae. Small Intestine Shu Point.
Bl 28   Three cun lateral to the dorsal midline, between the second and third sacral vertebrae. Bladder Shu Point.
BL 36   In the muscular groove between the biceps femoris and semitendinosus muscles. Two cun dorsal to the tuber ischii.
BL 37   In the muscular groove between the biceps femoris and semitendinosus muscles, at the level of the tuber ischii.
BL 39   In a depression at the end of the groove between the biceps femoris and semitendinosus muscles.
BL 40   Midpoint in the transverse crease of the popliteal fossa, between the biceps femoris and semitendinosus muscles.Sea Point. MASTER POINT of caudal back/hips
BL 54   Midway on a line connecting Baihui (L/S midline) and the graeter trochanter of the hip.
BL 60   Located between the lateral malleolus of the tibia and the tuber calcus at the level of the proximal tip of the lateral malleolus.
BL 67   Proximal to the coronary band, on the caudolateral aspect of the hindlimb, just cranial to the lateral collateral cartilage. Well Point. TING POINT.

 

VIII E: KIDNEY MERIDIAN ... EQUINE [up]

KI 1 In a depression between the bulbs of the heel of the hind limb. Well Point. TING POINT.
KI 3 In a depression between the medial malleolus and the tendocalcaneous, at the level of the proximal tip of the medial malleolus. Directly opposite BL 60 which is on the lateral side. Stream Point.
KI 27 Between the sternum and the first rib, over the descending pectoral muscle.

IX E: PERICARDIUM MERIDIAN... EQUINE  [up]

PC 1 Between the 5th intercostal space and the medial aspect of the elbow, over the ascending pectoral muscle.
PC 6 On the medial side of the forelimb, directly cranial to the chestnut. MASTER POINT chest/cranial abdomen.
PC 9 In the center depression between the bulbs of the heel on the forelimb. Well Point.TING POINT.

 

X E: TRIPLE HEATER MERIDIAN... EQUINE  [up]

TH 1 Proximal to the coronary band, on the cranial midline on the forelimb. Well Point. TING POINT.
TH 14 Caudoventral to the neck of the scapula and caudodorsal to the greater tubercle of the humerus at the caudal margin of the shoulder joint, over the deltoideus muscle. (opposite LI 15)
TH 15 In the depression over the dorsal edge of the scapula at its junction with the scapular cartilage, dorsal to the 3rd intercostal space. It lies over the cervical part of the trapezius muscle.
TH 16 Caudoventral to the mastoid process, between the 1st and 2nd cervical vertebrae, over the caudal border of the brachiocephalicus muscle muscle and cranial to SI 16.
TH 23 On the external rim of the orbit, at the end of the eyebrow.

XI E: GALLBLADDER MERIDIAN...EQUINE  [up]

GB 1 On the transverse facial vein about 1 cun cuadoventral to the lateral canthus of the eye.
GB 20 In a depression caudal to the occipital condyle, cranial to the wings of the atlas.
GB 21 Halfway cranioventrally on the cranial edge of the scapula, between the 7th cervical and 1st thoracic vertebrae.
GB 24 In the 14th intercostal space, just caudodorsal to LIV 14. ALARM POINT of Gallbladder.
GB 25 Midway between the caudal border of the costochondral junction of the 18th rib and the lumbar muscles. ALARM POINT of Kidney.
GB 29 In a depression half way between the wings of the ilium and the greater trochanter of the femur.
GB 30 In a depression caudoventral to the greater trochanter of the femur.
GB 34 In the interosseus space between the tibia and fibula, between the long and lateral digital extensor, craniodistal to the head of the fibula. INFLUENTIAL POINT of Tendons. Sea Point.
GB 44 Proximal to the coronary band, on the craniolateral aspect of the hindlimb. Well Point. TING POINT.

 

XII E: LIVER MERIDIAN... EQUINE  [up]

LIV 1

Proximal to the coronary band, on the craniomedial aspect of the hindlimb. Well Point. TING POINT.
LIV 4 Over a depression in the Saphenous vein, medial to the cunean tendon. River Point.
LIV 13 Located at the distal (ventral) end of the 17th rib. ALARM POINT of Spleen. INFLUENTIAL POINT of Yin (Zang) Organs.
LIV 14 Locvated in the 13th intercostal space at the level of the elbow, between the external abdominal oblique muscle and the internal and external intercostal muscles. ALARM POINT of Liver.

GV 1 In a depression between the anus and the ventral tail base.
Baihui In the lumbosacral space.
GV 4 Between the 2nd and 3rd lumbar vertebrae, dorsal to Bl 23.
GV 14 In a depression on the dorsal midline between the 7th cervical and and 1st thoracic vertebrae.
GV 20 At the highesty point of the poll, rostral to the occipital crest.
GV 26 At the center of the upper lip, midway between the ventral limit of the nostrils.

 

XIV E: CONCEPTION VESSEL MERIDIAN...EQUINE [up]

CV 3 Located 4 cun caudal to the umbilicius on the ventral midline. ALARM POINT of Bladder.
CV 4 Located 3 cun caudal to the umbilicus on the ventral midline. ALARM POINT of Small Intestine.
CV 5 On the vental midline, halfway between the pubic symphysis and the umbilicus. ALARM POINT of Triple Heater.
CV 12 On the ventral midline, halfway between the xiphoid and the umbilicus. ALARM POINT of Stomach.
CV 14 On the ventral midline at about the level of the xiphoid. ALARM POINT of Heart.
CV 17 Along the ventral midline, at the level of the caudal border of the elbow. ALARM POINT of Pericardium.
