Introduction
True Colours is a two week programme of events focussing on how Irish
society can be more inclusive of ethnic minorities including Travellers
and refugees and asylum seekers.
The aims of the two weeks are to highlight the challenge of cultural
diversity into the new millennium; identify some of the steps needed for
building a more inclusive intercultural society and address issues such as
racism and discrimination experiences by ethnic minorities in Ireland.

The True Colurs Film Festival includes Irish and international films
which realise the theme of True Colours; the inclusion of minority ethnic
groups including Travellers refugees and Asylum seekers. The films
celebrate cultural diversity, reflecting the experience of indigenous
minority ethnic groups and immigrant groups. The screenings of films
depicting emigration demonstrate the similarity between the Irish
experiences of emigration from Ireland and experiences of people
immigrating to Ireland.
