Application Form for Small Grant Fund

Introduction

The Small Grant Fund is a range of grants from £250- £800, which are available to non-government organisations that wish to undertake anti racism/intercultural projects, and in particular projects linked to the 'True Colours' Initiative in November 1999

The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, through the National Committee, have provided the funding for the Small Grant Fund.

Deadline: September 15th 1999

Applications received after this date will not be considered.

An appraisal committee will decide the outcome of applications. The criteria for assessing applications will include:

  • Highlight the challenge of cultural diversity into the new millenium in Ireland
  • Identify some of the steps needed for building a more inclusive, intercultural society
  • Address issues such as racism experienced by Black and minority ethnic groups including Travellers and refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland.

The Appraisal Committee will also ensure that there is an adequate regional and interest focus in the spread of grants. Applications from individuals or statutory organisations will not be considered.

The National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism, together with a number of organisations, are supporting the 'True Colours' Programme. This is a two week programme of events from 8th November to 22nd November, 1999 which will focus on the inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers, people of colour and ethnic minorities including Travellers into Irish society. The National Consultative Committee are encouraging groups to participate in the 'True Colours' programme by holding events to coincide with the dates of the programme. An application to participate in this programme is attached.
