CampOne - Patrols in Action
Wednesday 24th to Sunday 28th July 2013

CampOne was the first in a series of big camps to take place over the next five years at the five National Scout Centres – starting with Larch Hill as they celebrate 75 years of camping.

The best way for us to tell you about it is show you some pictures and share what the girls thought of the camp themselves...

‘I loved everything! Our patrol learned loads of new camp skills. The activities were amazing. I loved meeting new people and the best of all was building our first table, it was so cool! I can’t wait to go to camp two!

‘I loved the way it was so independent’

‘We learned lots of new things e.g. lashing, cooking and teamwork’

‘I enjoyed making new friends and learning how to do different knots & lashings. I also liked doing vertigo, we climbed onto trees and did lots of different challenges. I loved every part of the camp!’

‘At CampOne we made a table and learned square lashings, frapping, clove hitch &tripod lashings’

‘We thought it was a very good experience because we had not done anything like it [before]. The challenges were very exciting and it was a lot of fun.’

‘I liked the way we got to meet new people. The activities were really well though out and really fun. I hope we can go to the rest of the camps.’
