Dublin Diocese - Guide Camp Skills Day
Sunday 29th April 2012

40 Guides, some Rangers, a Brigin :) and 8 leaders came together,
from five different companies around the Diocese of Dublin,
to take part in the Dublin Camp Skills Day, once again,
in Taylor’s Field in Larch Hill Campsite.
Bases were much the same as the last day held in October 2010
but included an additional base in Emergency First Aid,
covering the type of accidents/incidents you could come across
when out of doors, including live scenarios for the girls to deal with.
The other bases included Tent Pitching, Backwoods Cooking, Gadget Building
and Pioneering. Once again, we were very lucky with the weather,
it was cold, very cold, but the rain stayed away until all the girls
where on their way home. All the companies were split up giving the
girls a chance to mix with girls from other companies.

All the girls were very interested in learning the new skills and
everyone had a great day, leader’s included.

Once again, we finished off the day with a campfire with each
company sharing their favourite song with the group along with a
few other favourites.
