Why should I have a Web Site?
The Internet has grown to become one of the leading advertising mediums used today. It is now, as much a part of our lives as television, magazines and newspapers. In fact, all of these and so much more can be accessed through the Internet, quite easily, by anyone, anywhere and at anytime. Offering your information through the Internet can increase your exposure both locally and world wide, inevitably increasing your client base. Weather you have a small, simple web site, purely for advertising purposes, or a more dynamic, E-commerce enhanced site to sell your products online, any web presence is a definite advantage in business today. This is a market that shouldn't be ignored.




Why do I need to hire someone to design my Web Site?
There is quite a lot of software available to help you design and set-up your own web site. Bearing in mind, however, that you will have to learn how to code such languages as HTML, Java, JavaScript and CGI. You will also find that you need a professional graphics package to design and manipulate your images and photographs, and know about formats, palettes and file sizes. Quite simply, to design and maintain your own Web Site, you will have to learn the newest technologies available and obtain all the tools, hardware and software. You also need to be creative and artistic to actually design your site . . . or . . . you can just leave all that up to us.




I have little or no knowledge of the Internet. Does this prevent my having a Web Site created?
Having little or no knowledge of the Internet should have no bearing on weather you can have a Web Site or not. You run your business and leave RAS Media organise your site for you. And we also provide in-house maintenance services, to keep your site up to date, so you don't have to worry about it.





What is my Domain Name and how do I get one?
Your Domain Name is simply the address of your web site. Usually the name of your company (e.g. www.yourcompany.com). Domain names are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. So, if it's available, you can register it and it's yours. RAS Media provides a Domain Name registration service for our clients. Your own domain name also means you can set up your own e-mail addresses (e.g. you@yourcompany.com, info@yourcompany.com, sales@yourcompany.com).




My budget is tight but I really want a Web Site. Can you help?

Who will write the site content?

Can my company start with a small Web Site and later expand to a larger Web Site, or must I start all over when wanting to enlarge the site?
Many companies start with a small web site. One of the most beneficial attributes of publishing online, is the ability to upgrade a web site without having to start over. With the web, a site owner is able to update and enhance only the areas that require change, without starting over. This is clearly a cost saver.




Do you check the site and validate it?
All websites designed by RAS Media are thoroughly tested before being uploaded for public viewing. The site is viewed over a full range of monitor resolutions to ensure compatibility, and each and every page goes through stringent error checks to validate the integrity of all coding, links and images.
