This has not been a happy hunting ground for Athlone in the past before they made up for it tonight. New boy Andy Myler got his third goal in as many matches. Alan Kelly started the scoring on the 23 rd minute. He was joined on the score sheet by Andy Myler in the 50th minute, scoring two goals in five minutes. Cobh got one back in the 65th minute with Gregor scoring, but the town were'nt finished yet. Stuart Connolly and Alan Clarke both got won each to round off a superb night for Athlone. This win puts Athlone on top of the table after three games. It is still early yet, but after Athlone's second half of the season last year, everyone knows how important a good start is. Big crowds will be expected for the Town's next match. That takes place next Friday 25th August at St. Mel's Park |
