Andy Myler joins Athlone Town from Monaghan United. He is a striker with a proven goal scoring record. From Dublin, he played his schoolboy football with St. Kevin's Boys before joining UCD on a Soccer Scholarship. He enjoyed four years at Belfield, helping the students to the First Division Championship in 1994/95. He also won a Leinster Senior Cup medal with UCD in 1996, beating Athlone Town in a penalty shoot-out in the final. Andy left UCD to join Newry Town in the Irish League and again helped the Mourne men to the First Division Championship. He left them to join Monaghan United and was the top scorer last season finding the net 17 times. Andy has a proven eye for goal and is a big man who holds the ball up well bringing other players into the game. He is most welcome to Athlone. |
