            Signifies the mind - the wood is the unconscious.   Symbol for wisdom, serious and thoughtful.  Associated with clairvoyance, OBEs, NDEs and magic.  Night eagle/night hunter.   The owl sits in the east (the place of illumination).   Nighttime is the owl’s friend.   It can see in the dark and accurately pinpoint and identify any sound.   You cannot hear the owl when it flies and it sees that which others cannot, which is the essence of true wisdom.    Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, had a companion owl on her shoulder which revealed unseen truths to her.
