This a one year Post Leaving Certificate Course

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE To provide students with a knowledge of computer operating systems and to teach software testing skills and procedures.

To prepare students for employment in this area and to provide a basis for further study at third level.

COURSE CONTENT Computer Architecture and Systems, Computer Programming, Applications Software, Software testing and Quality Assurance, Electronics, Business Administration, and Communications.

WORK EXPERIENCE The course will include a work experience placement in a relevant employment.

ENTRY STANDARD Applicants must have completed a Leaving Certificate/Applied Leaving Certificate course or equivalent.

CERTIFICATION Students will be entered for the FETAC Level 2 award in Information Technology (CITXX)

ENROLMENTS Interviews are held from March to May by appointment and in early September. Application forms are available on request from the college.
