When
packing for your big trip, remember always: less is
better. Think about everything you want to take, and
discard anything that isn't an absolute necessity - you'll
be sorry when you end up walking for hours in dead heat with
your complete personal belongings on your back.
As a guide, here are some suggestions: |

Pack:
- backpack
- day
pack
- 2
small locks
- bungee
cord (for wrapping around door and rack on trains)
- sleeping
sheet (thin and light)
- a
large (light weight) nylon stuff sack to put back pack
in during flight, it protects the straps and cords
from being damaged by luggage handlers
- a
water bottle
- an
extra buckle for the straps on your backpack
Documents:
- passport
& visas
- health
card
- hostel
card
- driver's
license (even though you're not driving, is used for
security deposit on keys, etc.)
Health:
- 1st
aid kit with bandaids, tape, and antibiotic ointment,
antacid, cold medicine, vitamin C
- anti-diarrhoea
and anti-nausea tablets
- extra
pair of prescription glasses
- toothpaste,
brush, floss
- nail
clippers, tweezers
- ear
plugs
- tissues,
Q-tips
- suntan/sunburn

(small pair for seeing frescos)

& tapes (audio tapes are great to send home)
