Adrigole, a beautiful, scattered
village rich in history and natural scenery. Looming to
the north is Hungry Hill, the highest of the Caha Mountains
and to the south is Bantry Bay. The Adrigole coastline is
varied, from a combination of rocky cliffs and outcrops
to the shallow, peaceful inlet of Adrigole Harbour. It boasts
of having the tallest Waterfall in Ireland and the British
Isles. The natural surroundings of Adrigole make it a haven
for hill walking, or cycling, along the small roads that
hug the sides of the mountains. There is a sailing
centre based there from which Bantry Bay can be explored
in many different ways.
The famous Healy Pass road links Beara to County Kerry
via the Caha Mountains. This is a must to travel and from
the top - the views to the south and to the north are both
breath-taking - in different ways. |
