Working
on the website.
Each girl in Sixth Class has created her own
personal Webpage on a topic of her choice. This has provided a wide variety of
interesting topics. We have also submitted articles on the Newsboard. Computers
are available to all classes in the school. A large collection of software has
been accumulated in recent years, relating to various curricular subjects and
Desktop Publishing.
Tin Whistle
We
are learning to play the Tin Whistle. Our lessons began six months ago and we
can already play numerous tunes. We thoroughly enjoy our weekly lesson and have
had an opportunity to play at a school celebration and a community
event. All classes from First upwards are being tutored to play the tin whistle.
In May we played in the Kolbe Centre in Portlaoise. We also led the School May
Procession in Prayer and Song with hymns such as "Hail Mary",
"Ave Maria" and "When Creation was Begun". These
are some tunes we know:
 | The Kerry Polka |
 | The
"Titanic" Polka |
 | The Rose of Tralee |
 | Spancil Hill |
 | The Dawning of the Day |
 | Christmas Carols |
 | St. Patrick's Day |
 | Sergeant Cahill's
Favourite |
 | Going to the Well for
Water |
 | Hey Jude |
 | The Peeking Pup |
 | Down by the Sally

Computer Art:

The

This is our school hall where P.E. Classes are held. We also gather there for
school ceremonies such as Prayer Services, Celebrations, School Meetings, Drama
Presentations and Concerts.
There
is a Book Rental Scheme in operation in the school. A dedicated
group
of parents and people associated with the school work hard in the
administration of this facility. It has huge benefits for the pupils who pay
a fee for the use of the books each year
which is less costly than individual purchase of
books.
Our school was founded by the Mercy Sisters.
This is Catherine's Prayer. She
is the Foundress of The Mercy Order.
My God,
I am yours
for time and eternity.
Teach me to cast myself entirely
into the arms of
your loving providence
with the most lively, unlimited
confidence in your
compassionate, tender pity.
Grant me,
O most merciful redeemer,
that whatever
you ordain or permit
may be acceptable to me.
Take from my heart
all the painful anxiety;
suffer nothing to sadden me
but sin,
nothing to delight me
but the hope of coming
to the possession of you,
my God and my all,
in your everlasting kingdom.
Amen. |
