Last summer I visited New York City for one month.

I travelled alone from Dublin to J.F.K airport in New York  City where I was met by my auntie who lives there.  I stayed in Woodside Queens. I visited the Empire State Building and looked out over the city of never ending skyscrapers

I saw the Statue of Liberty, she looks majestic on a little island in the harbour.

She was the first thing people could see when they came into the country.

I went roller blading in Central Park which is right in the centre of the city.

Each day I watched performances such as Magic Acts Basketball and Baseball, Chinese Exercise which is Chinese Folk dancing and moving slowly.

The park is a place where city people go to relax and play sports.

I saw Boltoe the dog that walked for miles without food to get medicine to a sick family.

The Disney store proved a great place to shop. So was the Warner Brothers store and F.A.O. Schwarz which is the largest toyshop in America.  One day I went on a boat trip around New York Harbour.

I really enjoyed travelling on the subways and taking the yellow cabs.        I even got to sit in a limousine on my way back to Penn Station.

The best thing I liked doing was having ice pops in the evening after dinner. We would walk down to a place called Pick a Pop and walk off to the park and watch the sun set on the end of a great day.
