Farewell to Sr. Kathleen

Sr. Kathleen, Principal of Scoil Eimhín Naofa for almost 20 years was the centre of attention and presentations recently, arising from her departure from the school for a retreat period in Glendalough, Co. Wicklow.

The school staff made her a presentation in Hotel Keadeen on Monday 18th.December 2000. On Wednesday 20th. December there was a special Mass in the parish church to celebrate her departure, attended by the entire school classes. The Mass was organised by the Parents' Council and teachers and it was an emotional and memorable experience. On Wednesday night there was a farewell buffet and surprise Party in the Hazel Hotel. The Parents' Council presented Sr. Kathleen with a travel voucher,  bank draft and an engraved watch. The Book Rental Committee presented her with a book token.

On Thursday 21st. of December there was a farewell assembly at Scoil Eimhín Naofa. The Board of Management made presentations of a C.D. player and a Veritas voucher, pupils not to forget Sr. Kathleen made a presentation of a mobile phone and afterwards there was a buffet organised by the staff. Sr. Kathleen sincerely thanked everyone associated with presentations, something she said will never be forgotten.

Sr. Kathleen became principal of Scoil Eimhín Naofa in 1982 after the retirement of Sr. Attracta. She was held in high esteem by pupils, parents and teachers. We wish her success and happiness at her work in Glendalough. Rath Dé ar do chuid oibre a Shúir Caitlín.
