Saint Evin's Girls' Basketball Team enjoyed a Tremendous Victory on June 13th, 2001 when they won the Cumann na mBunscol Large School Girls' Basketball Blitz. They brought home the Perpetual Shield which they have won for the first time. The girls, all from 6th. Class, were also presented with lovely individual medals. This award was well-deserved as the team were dedicated to training all year and displayed great team spirit at all events.

Saint Evin's Team also took part in the Cumann na mBunscol Basketball League earlier in this school year. It was a great achievement for this team to win five matches in a row and to qualify for the County Semi-Final in February 2001. Unfortunately they were beaten on the day despite a great effort of skill and stamina. 

The team members are Sharon (Captain), Sarah,  Ashley , Sarah S,  Aisling , Kathleen  , Stephanie B , Jennifer H , Anne-Marie  , Nickayla  , Marie and Jennifer F.  Training takes place in the school on Monday afternoons from 3pm to 4pm.
