Tree Week

In October, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Classes went on a nature trail  to Moore Abbey Woods to mark National Tree Week. They were briefed by Forrester, Mr. George Hipwell.

"We closed our eyes and smelled the glorious woods and heard the sounds of the singing birds and the crunchy leaves that sprinkled down like snowflakes from the bare trees. Our guide told us about  all the wonderful colours of the wood and about the magnificent trees. Our teacher had given us a task of finding a few items in the wood and one girl took charge of collecting slugs, spiders, insects and caterpillars. We were told that on the previous night two deer slept in and walked the woods. We appreciated the information passed on by our guide and returned to school to explore our collections of Autumn Treasure"

In the Summer Term, the Annual School Sponsored Walk takes place through Moore Abbey Wood. This year it will be held on June 10th.
