Our
Trip to Dublinia
|
At the beginnig of June
2002 Seomra Conn packed their bags, filled their lunch boxes, piled
onto buses and headed into town to visit 'Dublinia' in Christchurch
in Dublin. "We got a bus from school to Dublinia. When we got there
we had a little snack. Then we took pictures of all the class. Then
we went inside and we went into a dark room and we had a look at
all the mannequins. We went downstairs with Aran. We saw a knight.
Sean gave me a fright when I was standing beside the knight. I got
a picture with the knight." (Jean)
"It was all about History.
It was very interesting. Downstairs there was this green
jug and after the people drank from it they got very
sick & died. Nobody knew what happened until years later
scientists found out. The green jug was made from lead.
My teacher took pictures on the class outing to Dublinia. |

In Dublinia
there was lots of manikins dressed as people. There was a
small shop upstairs. We had a lady guide named Teresa, she
was very nice to us. Teresa showed us around the place. The
was 2 more mannequins that was playing a game I Mistook one
of the children for someone in the school." (Claire) |

I had
a great time at Dublinia. Dublinia is in the city centre.
Teresa was our guide. We saw a skeleton called Brigid. Teresa
did not know her real name. Teresa told us all about the Black
Plague. " ( Aishling) |
"Our class
went on a trip to Dublinia. Then we had a little snack.
We went inside at 11:30 and we met a man called Aran.
He showed us into a dark room where we saw a knight
and the street stalls with a growling dog. We got into
the lift to go to the next floor. We met our guide who
was called Teresa. She showed us what a rich man's house
was like and the type of plates and jugs they had 1,000
years ago." (Michael) |

"Tereasa our guide showed
us around upstairs. I saw a Viking village. We were
in a Viking ship. The houses were made out of grass,
blood and horse hair. There were rats and maggots
in the walls! The dark room was cool because there
was a knight standing inside the door. I also enjoyed
the boat because you could hear the water."
