The Beauty of the World by Tony O' Connor
The Oak Tree on the Hilltop by Anthony and Ben
Brightness by Eric Calnan and Cathal O' Herlihy
As I wade home, knee deep in crisp packets
And chewing gum;
I can't help but wonder:
How can we live,With The World this way?
Three hundred million
tonnes,
Of plastic bags
Making their way to the landfill site.
The same amount again,
(Maybe more!)
Making their way to the pavement floor.
Would you not think ,
With our short time on this Earth,
We would give the Environment it's tuppences worth?
No: It's a shame to our name,
A spike in our title,
We have to clean up our act;
(There's nothing as vital)
We're guilty of littering,
No offence is so black,
We'll be living in Waste,
If we don't turn this back.
Wheel out the Bins,
Pull out the stops
Let's pick up that paper,
Before the hammer drops!
by Cathal Malone.
The world's beauty for me
Is a warm Summer's day,
Watching farmers making hay.
Along by the coast the waves fall and rise,
Farmers stop to think of the old folk, who were wise.
I cannot wait for rthe Summer though Autumn has just begun.
The thought of the Earth's Summer beauty, and the feeling of fun,
The generosity of the countryside, it's people and harvest,
Is for me the World's beauty,
The World I love best.
by Tony O' Connor.
Is like a starving beast
watching everything
looking for a feast.
The oak tree on the hillside
sounds like a croaking toad,
its as heavy as a hippo.
Its a home to a squirrel,
a tower to a bee
but in the end its just a tree to me
by Anthony and Ben.
The sun hitting the dark alley,
Fire burning the trees in Australia
Brightness is a light shining on a rock.
The shine on a cold rock,
The daffodils in a field
shining on a road,
A red daffodil in a yellow daffodil field.
Snow on a black rock,
Green moss on a white pipe.
AND THAT IS HOW BRIGHTNESS GOES !!!!.
