St Patrick's Day
The children celebrated St Patrick's Day with a ceile dance.
All the children learned different traditional dance s. This culminated
in a ceile mór where the children of Junior Infants and the senior
classes danced to Irish Music. Even some of the teachers joined in.
February 2005
Music Club
Ms Murtagh formed a music club in the school. The children
have really responded well with huge numbers attending every Tuesday.
The children have had great fun listening responding and playing music.
The recorder class has really progressed this month as
the children heve become more and more confident
Open Night
We had a very successful open night where prospective parents
could view the school.
Mr Lydon and the staff produced a DVD outlining all the
activities that we participate in at the school.
First Confession
Scoil Naomh Eoin had its first Sacrament of our new school.
The First communion class made their first Confession during a service
at the school. This was the second public performance of ouyr school choir.
A great evening was had by all.
Swimming Class
The children of first to fifth class started swimming again.
The children will visit the pool for the next ten weeks.If the first week
is anything to go by the children are going to enjoy every minute of it.
January 2005
Children Back at school
French Class resumes.
After a very successful introduction last term French class
has resumed every Thursday evening after school. the children had a great
time last term and we wish themn all the best for the coming weeks
December 2004
Christmas Concert
The children performed 'The little Angel', 'The nativity',
and 'Fishing for Stars'. The Choir performed a range of songs.
Opening of Library.
Councillor Tommy Reilly chairman of Meath County Council
officially opened our school Library. Beirne from The Bookshop , Navan
held a very successful booksale. a percentage of the booksale went towards
the school abd it obvous from the day that friendship between ourselves
and The Bookshop navan had been formed. The day was a huge success.
October/November2004
Parents Association formed.
The Parents Association was formed for the year. They decided
to raise money for science equipment for the school through a sponsored
Witches walk. The children all dressed up for Halloween and we all had
a great time. even Mr Lydon dressed up as Spiderman.
September 2004
New Staff
Our new staff were welcomed by Mrs Mc Mahon and Father
Gerey. Three teachers joined our staff, Ms Karen Cassidy, Ms Leona Murtagh
and Ms Karen Dooley. Ms Liz Maguire also joined our staff as a classroom
assistant. they are most welcome and wish them all the best in their future
years with us here at Scoil Naomh Eoin.
New Junior Infants.
The class of 2004 started school. There are two classes
of Junior Infants. One class are with Mrs Mc Mahon while the other are
with Ms Cassidy for the year. We are sure that they will have may fun
years at Scoil Naomh Eoin.
